Shape & Size

The RAWM ES21 measures 122.2 × 64.5 × 39.1 mm, making it a medium-sized mouse. Its symmetrical shape features buttons on the left side, and the hump is slightly shifted toward the back, providing great palm support. This makes it highly suitable for claw grips across almost all hand sizes. However, if you prefer a fingertip grip, you’ll need relatively large hands, and even then, this mouse might not be the best choice.

For palm grips, the ES21 also works well due to its tall height, which gives the mouse a larger feel compared to other mice with similar lengths. The sides feature a slight inward curve, while the front has a subtle flare, adding to its overall comfort. The shape is distinct and doesn’t feel like a clone or copy of other popular designs.

Coating & Grip-Tape

The RAWM ES21’s coating is good, consistent with other mice in its price range. While it doesn’t quite match the grip level of brands like Zowie, Endgame Gear, or Vaxee, it very much outperforms mice with no coating.

If the coating alone doesn’t provide enough grip, the included grip tape is a great addition. Its quality and grippiness are comparable to other mice in the same category.

Build Quality

The build quality of the RAWM ES21 is excellent. The mouse feels robust, with no flex or creaking, even under significant pressure.

Weight & Feet/Skates

The RAWM ES21’s weight depends on the model. The standard ES21 weighs 50 grams, while the ES21 M and ES21 Pro weigh just 45 grams. I’ve been using the ES21 M, and it feels incredibly lightweight and well-balanced, especially given its size and solid shell design.

The mouse includes two large PTFE skates that glide smoothly right out of the box. These are among the best skates I’ve used compared to other mice in this price range.

Buttons & Scroll Wheel

The standard ES21 and ES21 M models feature Huano Transparent Green White dot switches for the main buttons, while the ES21 Pro uses Omron Optical switches. The Huano switches on my ES21 M feel excellent, with minimal pre-travel and post-travel, moderate tactility, and low actuation force.

The side buttons are also impressive, with very little pre-travel or post-travel, ensuring a responsive experience.

Sensor & Performance

The standard ES21 uses the PAW3395 sensor, while the ES21 M and ES21 Pro use the improved PAW3950 sensor. Performance is excellent, with no issues during gameplay, even at higher polling rates. All models support up to an 8K polling rate, though the standard ES21 includes only a 1K dongle.

The scroll wheel, equipped with a TTC Gold encoder, feels moderately tactile and smooth to scroll in both directions, matching the quality of other mice with the same encoder.

Conclusion

The RAWM ES21 stands out as a well-rounded gaming mouse with a unique shape ideal for claw-grip users. Its lightweight design (50–45 grams), solid build quality, and lack of shell cutouts make it feel premium. The switches, scroll wheel, coating, and skates all deliver high performance, especially for its price point of $66.99 for the ES21 M and $69.99 for the ES21 Pro.
