Shape & Size

The Dareu A950 Air measures 120 x 63 x 38 mm, making it a small-to-medium-sized mouse. It has a safe, symmetrical shape with a centered hump, slight outward front flares, and a flat side curvature. In many ways, it feels like a smaller Logitech G Pro X Superlight.

For most users, claw and fingertip grip will likely be the most comfortable. Smaller-handed users might also be able to palm grip this mouse.

Like the Logitech G Pro X Superlight, this shape is very safe and should accommodate a wide range of hand sizes and grip styles, though it isn’t particularly unique in design.

Coating & Grip Tape

The coating on the Dareu A950 Air feels dry and slightly chalky. Depending on your preference, this could be a plus or a minus. Personally, I prefer coatings with a more rubberized feel, like those from Zowie, Vaxee, or Endgame Gear.

If the stock coating doesn’t suit you, the included grip tape provides a softer feel and significantly improves grip.

Build Quality

The build quality of the Dareu A950 Air is solid. There's a slight flex when applying excessive force, but it never caused issues during regular gameplay. Shaking the mouse doesn't produce any rattle, and the scroll wheel remains secure.

Weight & Feet

The standout feature of this mouse is its incredibly low weight of just 35 grams, making it effortless to move around and pick up quickly and rapidly. The skates glide well but require some break-in time to feel optimally smooth.

Buttons & Scroll Wheel

I couldn’t find the exact switches or scroll wheel encoder used in this mouse. However, the main buttons are very tactile and easy to actuate, making them great for rapid clicking without accidental presses. I’m a big fan of these.

The scroll wheel has a moderate tactility and requires a fair amount of force to scroll. The middle-click also requires moderate force to press. While I typically prefer more tactile scroll wheels, this one is still enjoyable to use.

The side buttons are decent. They require more force than the main buttons, but I would have preferred them to be lighter for a more balanced feel. On the plus side, they have no noticeable pre-travel or post-travel.

Sensor & Performance

The Dareu A950 Air uses the Dareu AIM-750U sensor, a variant of the PAW3950. As expected from a top-tier sensor, performance is flawless. It also supports an 8000Hz polling rate with the included dongle.

Conclusion

At $59.99, the Dareu A950 Air offers incredible value. It combines high-end specs, ultra-lightweight design, great buttons, and a comfortable shape reminiscent of a smaller Logitech G Pro X Superlight. The included grip tape and 8K dongle add even more value, making this an excellent choice for those who find the shape interesting.
