Shape & Size
The Pulsar X2V2 is available in two sizes: the medium (120 x 63 x 38 mm) and the mini (116 x 61 x 37 mm). I tested the X2V2 Mini, which maintains the same overall shape as its medium counterpart but is smaller and lighter.
Choosing the right size depends on your hand size and preferred grip style. With hand measurements of 20.5 x 10.5 cm, I opted for the Mini version due to my preference for fingertip grip and smaller mice. For users with hand lengths up to 20 cm who favor fingertip grip, the Mini version is generally the better choice. In contrast, the medium version is better suited for those with medium to large hands who use claw or palm grips.
The sides of the Pulsar X2V2 are notably flat, featuring only a slight inward curvature and lacking front flares, creating a very neutral shape that isn't too aggressive.
The mouse's hump is positioned towards the rear, providing substantial palm support for palm and claw grips. Despite its prominence, the hump does not hinder fingertip grip users, making the X2V2's shape versatile for various grip styles and hand sizes.
Coating & Build Quality
The coating on the Pulsar X2V2 is high-quality, though it doesn't quite match the level of grippiness found on mice from Zowie, Vaxee, and Endgame Gear. Despite this, the X2V2's coating impresses with its consistency; unlike some coatings that can vary in grip based on humidity and sweat, the X2V2 maintains a stable feel regardless of environmental changes.
A common issue with white mice is their tendency to show dirt and stains, which can be a significant concern for users. However, despite my hands tending to sweat heavily, the white X2V2 Mini has remained remarkably clean, showing no signs of sweat accumulation and maintaining a brand-new appearance even after extensive use.
The Pulsar X2V2 exhibits outstanding build quality. No matter how much pressure I apply to its sides, top, or bottom, the mouse neither flexes nor creaks.
Weight & Feet/Skates
The Pulsar X2V2 Medium weighs 53 grams, and the Mini version is slightly lighter at 51 grams. Although many competitors now feature mice under 45 grams, and some even below 40 grams, the X2V2 remains fairly lightweight and easy to move around. One minor drawback is the weight distribution, which is biased towards the rear—this is generally unnoticeable with palm or claw grips but can be felt during rapid, extensive movements with a fingertip grip. However, this never negatively impacted my performance.
The skates on the X2V2 are good. They may not be the smoothest I've experienced, but they are significantly smoother straight out of the box than many other mice, with no break-in period required.
Buttons & Scroll Wheel
The Pulsar X2V2 uses optical switches for the main buttons. While optical switches can sometimes feel mushy compared to mechanical ones, these are remarkably tactile. They aren't as tactile as some mechanical switches but are sufficiently responsive for FPS games and are easy to spam-click.
The main buttons exhibit a slight amount of pre- and post-travel, but it's noticeable during gameplay. Side-wobble is virtually non-existent, enhancing the mouse's quality feel. The side buttons also have minimal pre- and post-travel and are quite tactile and easy to activate.
The scroll wheel strikes an excellent balance between tactility and ease of scrolling, allowing for rapid, repeated scrolls. Clicking the scroll wheel requires a moderate amount of force, aligning it with typical industry standards.
Sensor & Performance
The Pulsar X2V2 uses the PAW3395 sensor and feels as flawless as most top-tier sensors being used in today's market. The X2V2 is capable of reaching a 4K polling rate but requires a separate dongle not included when buying the mouse by itself. Because of this, I was only able to test the 1K polling rate, which felt completely stable, with no issues ever arising.
Software & Configuration
The Pulsar X2V2 is configured through the "Pulsar Fusion Wireless Mice Software." While no web-based software is available, the desktop application is robust and user-friendly. Once configured, settings are stored on the mouse, eliminating the need to keep the software active in the background.

Conclusion
Currently available for $70 after a 30% discount off its standard price of $100, the Pulsar X2V2 represents excellent value. Its unique shape, exceptional build quality, and availability in two sizes make it suitable for a wide range of hand sizes and grip styles. The use of optical switches is another plus, ensuring longevity without the risk of double-click issues. Overall, the Pulsar X2V2 is a highly commendable mouse, particularly for users who value a blend of innovation and reliability in their gaming hardware.
